Pricing & milestones
How much does it cost to hire a Christian ghostwriter?
Ghostwriting packages start at $3,500 for a 20,000–25,000-word book (Tier 1) and scale with manuscript length up to $52,000 for 200,000+ words (Tier 9) — every total in the table above is the complete project in USD, no hidden fees. You never pay in full upfront: the first milestone payment starts at $1,250, Milestone 2 (Draft Review) is fixed at $3,500 for Tiers 2–9 — $1,250 at Tier 1 — and Milestone 3 (Formatting & Final Delivery) is $1,000 in every tier. Larger manuscripts cost more because they genuinely take more writing, editing, and production time — never a flat word-count add-on.
How long does the ghostwriting process take?
Timelines scale with book length — the estimate for every tier is in the table above: about 2 months for Tier 1 (20,000–25,000 words), rising to 12+ months for Tier 9 (200,000+ words). These are estimates, not deadlines: actual completion depends on story complexity, source material, and how quickly feedback comes back. Clear delivery dates are agreed before work begins.
What is included in each milestone?
The three milestone cards above summarize it: Milestone 1 writes the first 50% of your book, Milestone 2 completes the remaining 50% plus a comprehensive proofread, and Milestone 3 is the final polish, professional interior formatting for KDP and Draft2Digital, and step-by-step publishing guidance.
Getting started
How do I get started?
Start the client application — a guided form where you share your name, email, preferred genre, word-count range, and a brief about your book, then choose the milestone to start with and your preferred start and end dates. It takes about four minutes. Once we receive your submission you get an instant confirmation email, your tailored written quote follows within 24 hours, and Ruan reaches out within 1–2 business days to confirm the details and dates before work begins.
What materials do I need to provide to start ghostwriting?
You can start with whatever you have — there is no single "right" format. Some clients provide detailed chapter outlines, others send voice recordings of their story, and some simply describe their idea in a conversation. Notes, journals, blog posts, sermons, and even text messages have all been used as source material. Your ghostwriter will work with whatever you give and shape it into a structured manuscript.
Can I make changes during the writing process?
Absolutely. Each milestone includes a review stage — you approve the first 50% before the second half begins, and the full manuscript is reviewed before the final polish. Feedback, edits, and direction changes are expected and welcomed. The process is collaborative: your voice leads, and the ghostwriter shapes the work around your vision.
Can I see samples of your work before committing?
Absolutely. You can read the published memoir The Drive Through Grief With Me on any major platform — our Books page has direct store links plus five sample passages, and full details of the upcoming collection The Poems of the Drive. This gives you a clear picture of the writing quality, tone, and production standard you can expect for your own book.
The craft: voice, genre & faith
What does a book ghostwriter do?
A book ghostwriter writes your manuscript on your behalf based on your notes, recordings, stories, and ideas. You receive full author credit from your very first word. At CP Chronicles, every project is written within a Christian worldview — whether it is a memoir, personal story, or nonfiction book. Your heart and message stay front and center, and once the finished book is delivered and paid for in full, it is unmistakably yours.
How do you capture my voice as a ghostwriter?
Your ghostwriter studies your tone, vocabulary, sentence rhythm, and the way you naturally tell a story. Through your notes, recordings, and conversations, the ghostwriter builds a clear picture of how you speak and write. The finished manuscript should read as if you wrote every word yourself — because the story, the perspective, and the heart behind it are entirely yours.
What is a Christian ghostwriter?
A Christian ghostwriter is a professional writer who authors books on behalf of someone else — within a Christian worldview. Whether it is a memoir, personal story, autobiography, or nonfiction book, the ghostwriter captures your voice, story, and faith, then shapes it into a polished, publication-ready manuscript. You receive full credit as the author; the ghostwriter's role stays behind the scenes.
What genres do you ghostwrite?
CP Chronicles specializes in Christian and faith-based books — including memoirs, personal stories, autobiographies, inspirational nonfiction, drama, and Christian spy thrillers. Every project is written within a Christian worldview and delivered with prayerful care. If your book honors God, we would love to help you bring it to life.
Rights & comparisons
Do I own the rights to my book?
Yes — with full author credit and billing from the very first word. Copyright ownership of the finished manuscript transfers to you once the full final payment for all agreed services is made, at which point the work is yours to publish, distribute, and sell as you see fit. CP Chronicles does not claim any rights to your lawful content.
What is the difference between ghostwriting and co-writing?
In ghostwriting, the writer works entirely behind the scenes — you receive full author credit throughout and copyright ownership transfers to you once the completed work is fully paid for. In co-writing, both names appear on the book. CP Chronicles operates as a ghostwriting service: your story, your name on the cover, and your finished book to own and publish.
What is the difference between a ghostwriter and an autobiography writer?
A ghostwriter writes your book entirely on your behalf while you keep full author credit; an autobiography writer typically shares the byline. At CP Chronicles every project is ghostwritten — your story, your name on the cover, and full copyright ownership transferred to you on final payment.

Milestone dates are flexible, and all communication happens via email.
Cerebral Palsy & accessibility
What is Cerebral Palsy?
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a group of neurological conditions that affect movement, muscle tone, and posture. It is caused by abnormal brain development or damage to the developing brain, most often before or during birth. CP affects each person differently — some people walk independently, others use mobility aids, and some communicate through assistive technology. It does not affect intelligence or the ability to think, learn, and create.
How does Cerebral Palsy affect your writing?
Ruan Oelofsen, the founder of CP Chronicles, lives with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, which affects all four limbs and the trunk. He writes with assistive technology and speech-to-text tools as his everyday setup, and every manuscript goes through the same structured process — recorded voice interviews, milestone drafting, and review checkpoints — with the quality, voice, and faith-centered craft held to the same professional standard as any other book we produce.
How do you write a book if you can't type?
Modern assistive technology makes professional writing possible without traditional typing. Ruan uses speech-to-text software, eye-gaze technology, and adaptive input devices to compose, edit, and structure manuscripts. Every word is crafted with the same precision and care as any professional writer — the tools are different, but the result is publication-ready.
