Cerebral Palsy Chronicles Ghostwriting Services ("CP Chronicles", "we", "our") is committed to handling the personal information of prospective and current clients with care and honesty. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

CP Chronicles is a Christian, faith-based ghostwriting and book production service run by Ruan Oelofsen. Our business email is ruanbookupdates@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information you choose to give us through our website forms:

  • Client intake form: your name, email address, preferred genre, word-count tier, chosen milestone, requested start and end dates, the message about your book, and your consent decisions — your acceptance of the Terms of Service and your separate choice about Zoom meeting recording (see section 5).
  • Consultation booking: the date and call window you pick (14:00–15:00 or 18:00–19:00, South Africa time), your consultation date and time once assigned, and — if the day you chose was already full and your booking was automatically moved forward — the date you originally requested alongside the confirmed date.
  • Time zone: your browser tells us your IANA time zone (for example “Africa/Johannesburg” or “America/New_York”). We use it to show and send appointment times in your own local time, taking daylight saving time into account. It is detected from your browser only — we do not use GPS, IP geolocation, or any other method to work out your location, and no country or city entry is ever needed to detect it.
  • Sponsorship form: your name, email address, optional organization, sponsorship option, and any message.
  • Contact form: your name, email address, topic, and message.
  • Remote IT support request form: your name, email address, which country you are based in (used only to arrange the session across time zones), your preferred contact method, the support type you selected (Personal, Small Business, or Corporate / Organization), your description of the technical problem, what you already tried, your preferred support date and time, and — for the tier you chose — your business name, organization details, device count, or operating system, plus any optional extra details you add. We never ask for passwords, PINs, banking details, or authentication codes.

We do not collect payment card details on this website. Payments for projects are handled outside this site through Payoneer bank-to-bank transfers.

3. How your information is used

We use the information you provide to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and answer your questions;
  • Prepare quotes and milestone breakdowns for your book project;
  • Assign your consultation date and call window automatically from live booking capacity — moving your booking to the next day that still has space if the date you chose is already full — and email you the confirmed date, time, and time zone;
  • Send you a calendar reminder for your confirmed consultation;
  • Manage and communicate about an active project;
  • Review and respond to your remote IT support request and arrange the support session, where applicable; and
  • Coordinate sponsorship of accessibility equipment, where applicable.

4. How submissions are delivered to us

Inquiry details are delivered to our business inbox at ruanbookupdates@gmail.com. Intake, sponsorship, contact, and remote IT support submissions are processed by a Cloudflare Worker, which routes them to our business inbox and sends a transactional confirmation email through Resend. Booking confirmations, including the calendar attachment used for your reminder, are delivered the same way. Hosting is provided by Cloudflare.

5. Zoom meeting recordings

With your separate, explicit consent, consultation calls are held on Zoom and the meeting is recorded. Recordings are used as working material for your project only — to keep accurate notes and to reference what was discussed while drafting your manuscript — and are treated as confidential project material.

The recording consent is asked for as its own, separate checkbox on the client application, unchecked by default. It is never assumed, pre-checked, or bundled with any other permission, and it does not cover advertising, social media, or any publication use. We keep a record of the consent you gave, along with your name and the date and time of your submission, so there is never any doubt about what you agreed to.

We do not sell recordings or share them publicly. If you have a question about a recording or about the personal information we hold about you, contact ruanbookupdates@gmail.com.

6. What we do not do

We do not:

  • Sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone;
  • Use advertising trackers or profiling cookies on this website; and
  • Share your information with third parties except the service providers named above that deliver your message to us and run the website.

7. Retention and your rights

We keep inquiry and project correspondence for as long as is reasonably needed to communicate with you and provide our services. You may ask us at any time to correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing ruanbookupdates@gmail.com.

8. Children

Our services are directed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
